New Delhi / Gonda, April 5:
Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, has approved the construction of a 4-lane Colonelganj Bypass in Gonda district, Uttar Pradesh. The project, spanning 14.100 km, will be built under the Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM), with an estimated cost of Rs 896.54 crore.
The project also includes pre-construction activities such as land acquisition for both 4-lane roadworks and 6-lane structure works.
Highlighting the significance of the development, Gadkari stated, “National Highway-330B is crucial as it enhances connectivity for traffic moving from Balrampur and Gonda to Behraich, Barabanki, and Lucknow.”
The new bypass aims to ease congestion and improve road safety, especially on the existing NH-330B, which currently passes through the densely populated town of Colonelganj. Once completed, the bypass is expected to streamline traffic flow, reduce travel time, and contribute to regional economic growth.
The initiative is part of the government’s broader vision to strengthen road infrastructure across Uttar Pradesh and improve connectivity in key districts.
