CCS Convenes Emergency Meeting After Pahalgam Attack; Global Powers Back India’s Right to Respond

Date:

In the wake of the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, a high-level meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) is set to take place this evening in New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will chair the meeting, which will also be attended by National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah, and other top security and intelligence officials.

Sources confirm that the CCS will discuss the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir, potential strategic responses, and the broader geopolitical implications of the attack.

India is receiving strong backing from the international community, with countries like the United States, Japan, and Russia extending their support for India’s right to take decisive action against terrorism.

“This is not just an attack on India; it’s an attack on the values of peace and democracy,” a U.S. State Department spokesperson said earlier today, emphasizing America’s solidarity with India.

Japan and Russia have also condemned the attack in strong terms, calling for a global effort to dismantle terror networks and hold perpetrators accountable.

The CCS meeting is expected to result in key decisions that will shape India’s immediate and long-term security posture in the region. A firm message is likely to be sent — both to those who orchestrate terror and to those who support it from the shadows.
