Jammu & Kashmir
In the aftermath of a tragic terrorist attack that has shocked the region, senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi visited Jammu and Kashmir to express solidarity with the victims and call for national unity in the face of terror.
“It’s been a terrible tragedy,” Gandhi said while addressing the media. “I came here to get a sense of what’s going on and to help. The entire people of Jammu and Kashmir have condemned this terrible act and are fully supportive of the nation at this time.”
During his visit, Gandhi met with several victims, including one of the injured, and extended his condolences to the families of those who lost their lives. “My love and affection go out to everyone who has lost family members. I want everyone to know that the nation stands with them as one,” he said.
Gandhi also revealed that the Opposition had held a joint meeting with the government a day earlier, where all parties unanimously condemned the attack. “The entire Opposition expressed full support for whatever action the government takes,” he stated.
Stressing the importance of unity, Gandhi warned against divisive narratives. “The idea behind what has happened is to divide society, and it’s crucial that every Indian stands united and defeats what the terrorists are trying to do. It’s sad to see that some people are attacking my brothers and sisters from Kashmir and the rest of the country.”
He called for a collective fight against terrorism, emphasizing that solidarity is the strongest response. “It’s essential to stand united and together to fight this nasty action and defeat terrorism once and for all.”
During his visit, Gandhi also met with the Chief Minister and the Lieutenant Governor. “They briefed me about what happened, and I assured both of them that myself and our party will fully support them,” he concluded.
The visit comes as security forces continue their investigations and operations in the region, while the nation mourns the lives lost and prays for peace.
