Diplomatic corps travels to areas affected by Thailand – Cambodia clashes to observe true situation

Government Spokesperson Jirayu Houngsub, as member of Ad Hoc Center for Thailand-Cambodia Border Situation disclosed that the diplomatic corps and military attaché corps from 23 countries, together with Thai and foreign media, altogether over 100 people, have arrived in Ubon Ratchathani province for an observance of the border area impacted by Thailand – Cambodia border situation.

Inviting the diplomatic corps and military attaché Corps to observe and inspect the situation reflects the Thai Government’s sincerity and commitment to transparency to allow foreign diplomatic corps and media to witness the truth and actual situation in order for them to report to the global community in a just manner. Thailand always stands ready to reveal the truth and let the global community judge with their own eyes.

Foreign diplomatic corps to visit affected areas today consisted of: Ambassadors from 3 countries: Brunei, Japan, Myanmar; Chargé d’Affaires from 3 countries: Malaysia, Lao PDR, Indonesia; diplomatic representatives of various ranks from 5 countries: United States, Singapore, China, Vietnam, Philippines; and Military Attachés from 23 countries: China, Malaysia, United Kingdom, Pakistan, South Korea, Russia, Singapore, Germany, India, Lao PDR, Canada, France, United States, Philippines, Japan, Vietnam, Italy, Netherlands, Indonesia, Sweden, Switzerland, Brunei, and Türkiye.

The group of diplomatic corps will visit several places that have been affected and damaged by the Cambodian attacks, including schools, hospitals, people’s houses and shelters. A press briefing regarding the visit will take place from the field later today.
