New Delhi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi stirred national conversation today with a bold remark addressing the mismanagement of Waqf properties and its impact on the Muslim community, particularly the youth.
Speaking at a public rally, PM Modi stated, “If the Waqf property had been used honestly, then my Muslim youth would not have to spend their lives repairing punctured bicycles.”
The statement, aimed at highlighting alleged corruption and misallocation of Waqf board resources, has drawn strong reactions across the political and social spectrum. Supporters applauded the Prime Minister for calling out systemic issues that hinder community progress, while critics accused him of generalizing and politicizing sensitive matters.
The Prime Minister’s remarks come amid ongoing discussions around transparency, reform, and equitable development of minority communities. Modi reiterated his government’s commitment to empowering all youth with education, skill development, and equal opportunity, stating that “talent must not be limited by misgovernance or neglect.”
Opposition leaders and minority organizations are expected to issue official responses in the coming days.
