Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh
In a major infrastructure boost, the construction of a 28.516 km long access-controlled four-lane bypass on the western side of Gwalior city has been approved at a cost of ₹1,347.6 crore. The project aims to enhance connectivity between Morena and Gwalior districts while also linking key blocks and tehsil headquarters along the route.
The bypass will serve as a crucial arterial road, improving access to National Highway-46 (NH-46) and National Highway-44 (NH-44). Additionally, it will integrate with the upcoming Agra-Gwalior Access Controlled Highway, further strengthening the region’s transport network.
Officials stated that the development of this high-speed corridor will significantly improve long-distance traffic and freight movement. The new bypass is expected to reduce travel time, enhance road safety, and ensure a smoother flow of vehicles, benefiting commuters and businesses alike.
With this initiative, the government aims to bolster regional connectivity and facilitate economic growth in Madhya Pradesh by improving infrastructure in one of its key urban centers.
