Nitin Gadkari Urges Citizens to Promote Road Safety: “Jaldi Mat Machao, Aaram Se Aao!”

Date:

New Delhi, May 3, 2025 — Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, today appealed to citizens across the country to play an active role in promoting road safety—even from their homes. Emphasizing the shared responsibility in preventing accidents, Gadkari introduced a heartfelt message: “Jaldi Mat Machao, Aaram Se Aao!” (Don’t rush—come safely).

In a public statement released via social media and broadcast platforms, the Minister said, “Even from home, we play a vital role in promoting road safety. A simple reminder to our loved ones to follow traffic rules, avoid overspeeding, and drive responsibly can make a life-saving difference.”

Gadkari highlighted that over 1.5 lakh lives are lost every year in India due to road accidents, many of which are preventable. He urged citizens to be proactive by gently reminding family members, friends, and colleagues to wear seatbelts, avoid using mobile phones while driving, and obey traffic signals.

“Let’s look out for one another,” he said, “because every journey deserves a safe return.”

The campaign aligns with the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to reduce road fatalities through awareness, infrastructure upgrades, and stricter enforcement of traffic laws.

Citizens are encouraged to share the slogan #AaramSeAao on social media, helping create a collective consciousness around safer roads for all.
