In a major push to India’s textile industry, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved the establishment of seven PM MITRA (Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel) Parks across different states. These parks, aimed at boosting textile manufacturing and exports, will be set up by 2027-28.
The identified locations for these parks are:
• Virudhunagar, Tamil Nadu
• Warangal, Telangana
• Navsari, Gujarat
• Kalaburagi, Karnataka
• Dhar, Madhya Pradesh
• Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh
• Amravati, Maharashtra
The initiative aligns with the “Make in India” vision and is expected to generate massive employment opportunities while attracting foreign and domestic investments. These parks will be equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure, common processing units, and plug-and-play facilities to enhance India’s global competitiveness in the textile sector.
With an estimated investment of ₹4,445 crore, the PM MITRA scheme aims to strengthen India’s position as a global textile manufacturing hub.
