PM Modi Holds Comprehensive Talks with Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake in Colombo

Indian Prime Minister Narendra held extensive and productive discussions with Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake during his official visit to Colombo today. The talks focused on strengthening bilateral relations and exploring new areas of cooperation between the two neighboring nations.

Highlighting the significance of the visit, Prime Minister Modi remarked, “A few months ago, President Dissanayake chose India for his first overseas visit after assuming office. Today, I have the honour of being the first foreign leader he is hosting during his Presidency. This is a clear reflection of his personal commitment to India-Sri Lanka ties and the unbreakable bond that exists between our nations.”

The two leaders reaffirmed their dedication to enhancing cooperation in trade, connectivity, cultural exchange, and regional stability. Strategic agreements in the fields of energy, infrastructure, and maritime security were also discussed.

This visit marks a significant step forward in the deep-rooted partnership between India and Sri Lanka, underscoring shared values, historical ties, and a vision for mutual growth.
