New Delhi, April 9:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today addressed a special gathering in the capital on the occasion of Navkar Mahamantra Day, emphasizing the importance of spiritual awakening, universal harmony, and India’s ancient wisdom traditions in shaping a peaceful world.
Speaking at the event, PM Modi said, “Today I had the privilege of promoting peace, spiritual awakening and universal harmony through Navkar Mahamantra Day in New Delhi. The Navkar Mahamantra is the center of our faith. Its importance is not just spiritual, but it shows the path to everyone—from self to society.”
He described the mantra as a guide for meditation, sadhana, and self-purification, stating that its core values offer a timeless message for humanity.
In a significant announcement, the Prime Minister unveiled the Gyan Bharatam Mission, a national initiative aimed at digitizing India’s ancient heritage and connecting “antiquity with modernity.” The mission is envisioned as a bridge between the country’s rich philosophical traditions and its future aspirations.
Highlighting the essence of Jainism, he said, “Jainism is as scientific as it is sensitive. The solution to the challenges of war, terrorism and the environment lies in its foundational principles.” He further stressed that a sustainable lifestyle rooted in ancient wisdom is key to addressing the global climate crisis.
In a call to action, PM Modi urged citizens—especially the youth—to adopt nine key resolutions that embody peace, harmony, and compassion. “For our new generation to get a new direction and for peace, harmony and compassion to increase in society, we will have to adopt these 9 resolutions in our lives,” he stated.
The event was attended by spiritual leaders, scholars, and members of the Jain community, marking a day of reflection, resolve, and reverence.
