Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh on March 30, where he will participate in key events and lay the foundation stones for multiple development projects worth over ₹33,700 crore.
PM’s Visit to Nagpur, Maharashtra
The Prime Minister will begin his day in Nagpur, Maharashtra, where he will:
• Undertake Darshan at Smruti Mandir at around 9 AM, coinciding with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s (RSS) Pratipada program, marking the Hindu New Year.
• Pay homage at Deekshabhoomi, the historic site where Dr. B.R. Ambedkar embraced Buddhism in 1956.
• Lay the foundation stone of Madhav Netralaya Premium Centre at around 10 AM, a 250-bed eye hospital with 14 outpatient departments (OPDs) and 14 modular operation theatres, aiming to provide affordable world-class ophthalmic care.
• Inaugurate the Loitering Munition Testing Range and UAV Runway Facility at Solar Defence and Aerospace Limited, a 1,250m-long airstrip dedicated to testing advanced Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and guided munitions.
PM’s Visit to Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh
In Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, PM Modi will lay the foundation stone, initiate work, and dedicate to the nation major projects across sectors, including power, transport, education, and housing.
Key Power & Energy Projects:
• NTPC’s Sipat Super Thermal Power Project Stage-III (1x800MW) in Bilaspur, worth ₹9,790 crore, using Ultra-Supercritical Technology for higher efficiency.
• First Super Critical Thermal Power Project (2x660MW) by CSPGCL, valued at ₹15,800 crore.
• Three Power Transmission projects by POWERGRID under Western Region Expansion Scheme (WRES), worth ₹560 crore.
• City Gas Distribution (CGD) project by BPCL across multiple districts, including a 200 km high-pressure pipeline and over 800 km MDPE pipeline, worth ₹1,285 crore.
• Visakh-Raipur Pipeline (VRPL) by HPCL, a 540 km multiproduct pipeline, worth ₹2,210 crore.
Key Rail & Road Infrastructure Projects:
• Seven new railway projects (108 km) and three completed railway projects (111 km), worth ₹2,690 crore.
• 100% electrification of Chhattisgarh’s railway network to boost connectivity.
• Upgraded highways, including NH-930 and NH-43, and new NH-130D expansion, worth ₹1,270 crore.
Education & Housing Initiatives:
• 130 PM SHRI Schools across 29 districts to enhance educational infrastructure.
• Vidya Samiksha Kendra (VSK) in Raipur for real-time monitoring of education schemes.
• Griha Pravesh ceremony for 3 lakh rural beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin (PMAY-G).
This visit underscores PM Modi’s focus on infrastructure development, education, and energy security, aiming to accelerate progress in Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh.
