UK’s Continued Humanitarian Support
The UK remains a leading donor to the Rohingya crisis response, having provided:

✅ £105 million in aid for Myanmar’s Rakhine State, including £52 million directed towards Rohingya and other Muslim minorities.
Ambassador Sanders highlighted the UK’s diplomatic efforts, noting that the UK, as penholder at the UN Security Council, convened five meetings on Myanmar over the past year to maintain global attention on the crisis.
Commitment to Long-Term Solutions
The UK welcomed the 2025 Rohingya Joint Response Plan, which aims to provide critical aid to both Rohingya refugees and vulnerable host communities in Bangladesh. Sanders emphasized the need for targeted assistance to protect the most vulnerable while addressing broader challenges.
Recognizing the strain on Bangladesh’s security, infrastructure, and resources, the UK committed to:
• Strengthening international partnerships to find sustainable solutions for the crisis.
• Enhancing self-reliance opportunities for Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh.
