1,12,962 Companies registered during the current FY 2024-25

The total number of companies registered during current FY 2024-25 till 30.11.2024 is 1,12,962.

Initiatives taken by the Government to promote the registration of companies are:-

(i) Central Registration Centre (CRC) was established on 22.01.2016 vide notification G.S.R. 99(E) by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs to centralize the online process of incorporation in order to expedite the registration process.

(ii) The cost of starting a business has been reduced significantly through a number of initiatives of which some areas under: –

(A) All companies with authorized capital upto INR 15,00,000 are incorporated at zero fee.

(B) Integration of PAN&TAN applications with SPICE (web form for incorporation of Company) + eMOA (e Memorandum of Association) + AOA (e-Articles of Association) and allotment of DIN integrated into SPICe., registration with Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), Employees’ State Insurance Act (ESIC), Professional Tax Registration Certificate (PTRC), Professional Tax Enrolment Certificate (PTEC), Shops and Establishment Act, GSTIN, has reduced cost, time and procedures.

(C) Rule 38(2) of the Companies (Incorporation) Rules 2014 provides that single SPICE+ form can be used to apply for allotment of Director Identification Number upto three Directors, Reservation of a Name, Incorporation of company and Appointment of Directors of the proposed for One Person Company, Private company, Public company and a company falling under section 8 of the Companies Act, 2013.

(iii) Amendments were made in the Companies Act, 2013 in the year 2020 to facilitate Ease of Doing Business, Decriminalization of offences and to improve compliance requirements, specifically for Small Companies, One Person Companies, Start-ups and Producer Companies.

(iv)Exemptions from various provisions of the Companies Act to Private Companies, Government Companies, Charitable Companies, Nidhi Companies and IFSC (GIFT city) companies have been provided.

Flood-like situation in Puducherry due to Cyclone ‘Fengal’ 30-year-old rainfall record broken

BIG NEWS : Cyclone Fengal, which arose from the Bay of Bengal on November 25, hit the coast between Karaikal in Puducherry and Mahabalipuram in Tamil Nadu at 7:30 pm on November 30. The landfall process continued till 11.30 pm. During this time, winds blew at a speed of 90 km per hour along with heavy rain. The impact of the cyclone is also felt in Kerala, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.

According to IMD, Fengal is stuck here after landfall on November 30, but it will gradually weaken in a few hours. Due to this, heavy rains have been predicted in Puducherry, Cuddalore, Villupuram and Chennai on Sunday. Puducherry received 48.4 cm of rain during 24 hours. This is the highest rainfall in a day in 30 years.

Due to the storm, Chennai airport was closed at 12 noon, which resumed at 1 am. Flights resumed after midnight, but many flights were cancelled. Some arrived late. 24 domestic flights were cancelled due to the storm. 26 international flights were delayed.

A video of Chennai airport has surfaced, in which IndiGo flight got caught in cross wind and started swaying during landing. The pilot flew the plane back. No official statement has been issued by IndiGo regarding the incident.

Mumbai Police successfully seized 12.44 grams of mephodrine, a hazardous substance known for its severe health risks, during a raid at Ulhasnagar. Mephodrine, classified as a controlled substance, poses a significant threat to public health and is strictly regulated under the law.

The suspect was taken into custody and charged under Sections 8(c) and 21(b) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, which governs the possession, sale, and distribution of such substances. Authorities are committed to eradicating illegal drug activities in the region and ensuring strict penalties for violators. Further investigations are ongoing to identify any connections to broader networks involved in the drug trade.
